The ‘Wordsworth’ was designed as a contemporary bed addition very different to the sleigh bed design. Though as made from solid mahogany hand carved and finished with all the character this brings the ‘Wordsworth’ will be as happy in a docklands apartment as a period home.
A major consideration in its design was the low footboard for the taller sleeper fed up of touching either end in the night. Almost every bed we have seen with a low footboard has had virtually no imagination in design almost as though the footboard is an afterthought. In the ‘Wordsworth’ you could almost say it is its strongest feature.
If you are able to see this bed in the flesh it will strike you how heavy and substantial this bed is, the headboard alone weighs almost as much as the foot and headboard combined from our ‘Lits en Bateaux’ which is already a substantial bed its self.
