The ‘Cavalier’ sleigh bed. Our most intricate sleigh bed very feminine though bold with a huge ‘Wow’ factor guaranteed to make a big impression in your bedroom. This bed takes over 11 weeks to hand carve and finish with intricate detail pomp and ceremony surrounding the bed. The foot and headboard have a substantial curve to them, the proportion of the bed is very different, as you reach the top of the foot and headboard to the scroll from a side profile we have kept a wide dimension. This gives a better balance to the bed as you look from top to bottom. This has also given sufficient room to place a very substantial piece of timber (a joist!)at the top of the foot and headboard measuring 4 inches thick and 7 inches deep across the width of the bed. It has a tactile feel to it and you can sense the weight just looking at it. The work and material that has gone into this bed is significant, even if you look at the back of the headboard at the feet but on the inside, where you are unlikely to ever look, you will still find the same carvings as those on the outside.
